Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 22, 2026. SafeDisk AI is designed around local scanning, storage metadata, and explicit user review before cleanup.
Contact
For privacy, support, or deletion requests, email support@getsafedisks.com or use the SafeDisk support request form. The form creates a SafeDisk reference ID.
What the scanner reads
The SafeDisk Mac app scans local storage metadata after the operating system allows access. The browser fallback scan can inspect one selected folder in Chrome or Edge after you approve folder access. SafeDisk reads metadata such as file or folder path, size, timestamps available from the file system, app category signals, and whether an entry was skipped or inaccessible. The scanner is designed to avoid reading file contents.
Your browser or operating system may block protected folders. If you deny access, SafeDisk can show less detail or mark some space as skipped or inaccessible. SafeDisk does not silently grant Full Disk Access and does not bypass browser or operating-system permission controls.
What we collect from the website
- Support and trial request fields you submit, including email address, product, message, SafeDisk reference ID, and optional scan summary.
- Basic analytics events such as page path, clicks, UTM campaign fields, session ID, referrer, timestamp, browser user agent, and event properties.
- Older paid-order metadata or future payment metadata only when a paid checkout is enabled, such as payment status, product, checkout ID, customer email, and refund status. We do not receive full card numbers or bank details.
Local browser storage
The website may use localStorage and sessionStorage to remember a session ID, attribution fields, the last scan summary in the current browser, and whether the one-time free cleanup candidate was used in that browser profile. You can clear this data through your browser settings.
How we use data
- To show scan results and prepare a deletion judgment.
- To respond to support, refund, privacy, and delivery requests.
- To prevent spam, debug request issues, measure conversion, and improve product flows.
- To comply with payment, tax, fraud-prevention, chargeback, and legal obligations only when paid transactions exist.
What not to send
Do not send file contents, passwords, private keys, API tokens, private source code, customer data, regulated records, or confidential documents. SafeDisk only needs storage metadata and short problem descriptions.
Service providers
We use hosting, analytics logging, lead-delivery, repository, support, and optional payment service providers to run the site and deliver requests. These providers may process request metadata such as IP address, user agent, timestamps, form fields, and payment status as needed to provide their services. Payment providers process paid checkout only when a paid checkout is enabled or for older paid transactions.
Data sharing and selling
We do not sell your scan summaries or support messages. We share data only with service providers needed to operate SafeDisk, deliver support, handle optional paid transactions, comply with law, prevent abuse, or protect the service.
Retention
We keep support, lead, optional payment, and delivery records for as long as needed to provide support, handle older paid-order refunds or chargebacks, comply with accounting obligations, and improve the product. Analytics logs may be kept in aggregate or event form for product measurement. You may request deletion of personal request records by emailing support@getsafedisks.com or through the support request form, subject to security, fraud-prevention, payment, and legal retention obligations where applicable.
Your choices
- You can use the free scanner without submitting an email unless you request follow-up or a trial reply.
- You can clear browser local storage to remove local session and free-cleanup state from that browser.
- You can request access, correction, or deletion of personal support records by emailing support@getsafedisks.com or through the support request form.
- You can choose not to send scan summaries that contain paths you consider sensitive.
Security
We limit the product to storage metadata and avoid requesting remote access. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so you should avoid sending secrets or confidential file contents.
Changes
We may update this policy as SafeDisk changes. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
